Ethics Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Formula Hardware operates under a strict ethics framework to ensure that our editorial content is trustworthy, independent, and serves the interests of job seekers and employers alike.
Conflicts of interest
Authors and contributors must disclose any financial or personal relationship with the organisations they cover before an article is published. Where a conflict cannot be managed through disclosure, the author is recused from that coverage.
Formula Hardware does not accept paid placements in exchange for editorial coverage. Advertising and sponsored content relationships do not influence our news or analysis.
Source handling
- Sources are identified and quoted accurately; quotes are never paraphrased without attribution.
- We do not pay sources for information.
- Confidential sources are protected; their identity is disclosed internally to a senior editor.
- Off-the-record information is used only to guide further on-the-record research, never published directly.
Use of AI tools
Where AI writing or research tools assist in drafting content, a human editor reviews and takes editorial responsibility for the final published article. We do not publish AI-generated content without expert human review and fact-checking.
Freelance contributors
Guest contributors are held to the same accuracy, attribution, and disclosure standards as staff. All contributors must sign our contributor agreement, which incorporates these ethics policies.
Gifts and hospitality
Journalists and editors do not accept gifts, travel, or hospitality from organisations they cover that are of more than nominal value. Attending press events with complimentary access is permissible when the coverage interest is genuine.
